Description: PAYNE PERMEABILITY CUP
This simple instrument allows reliable measurement/determination of water vapour transmission/moisture of paints, varnishes or similar coatings. Precise machining ensures exposure area.
It consists of a Cup, a Ring, a Gasket and a Screw cap. Confirming to ASTM D1653.
After drying, a coated permeable backing material is cut out to form a disc.
The cup filled with distilled water.
The material is placed and tightened by cap/disc assembly.
The Unit is then weighed on a balance with a minium readability of 10mg.
This unit is weighed periodically every 24 hours, to determine the loss.
