Description: Life of Coatings depends on various parameters which includes hardness.Testing of coating hardness indicates the maximum. resistance the coatings can offer to external force.The process involves draging of a 1mm ball indented neddle on a smooth, coated surface under varing load from 100gms. to 10 Kg.
The instruments have been designed as per BS 3900 Part E2 / ISO 1518 1992, BS 6497, ASTM D5178 199.The system can also be used as per ASTM D2197 Scrape Adhesion Test and D5178 Mar Resistant Test with an optional attachment.The automatic versions operate on 230V, 50 Hz. 1 phase AC supply whereas the manual operates on a 9V single battery.
