Description: DUCTILITY TESTING MACHINE
As per IS: 1208, Ductility is defined as distance in cms. to which a standard bitumen can be stretched before the thread breaks. The briquette is stretched at the rate of 50mm/min., at a temperature of 27C. The apparatus consists of a water bath, thermostatically controlled, and a circulating pump to maintain a uniform temperature. The motor and gear assembly is housed in a cabinet fixed to the bath. a pointer fixed to the carrier moves over a scale graduated with least count of 1mm, on the bath, the zero of the scale is towards the fixed plate. The rotating shaft has two speeds of travel for the bracket, 5cm/min, and 1cm/min. selectable by a lever.
Operation on 230V Ac Mains, 50 Hz., single phase.
