Description: Type BGM-D is a digital gaussmeter for measurement of static DC magnetic fields. It has two ranges viz. 0 to 1999 gauss and 0-19.99 kilogauss full-scale. This yields a good resolution of 1 gauss in the lower range and 10 gauss in the higher range. The model supersedes our earlier analog gaussmeter type BGM
Some of the more significant features of BGM-D are:
*Just two ranges to cover from 1 gauss to 20Kilogauss. Bright LED seven-segment large display for ease of reading. Accuracy of readings within 2% of full-scale with the calibrate adjustment built-in. Better accuracy if the instrument is adjusted with a standard reference magnet.
*Easy ‘Zero’ and ‘Calibrate’ adjustments with high-resolution 10-turn potentiometers.
*Function/Range selection by means of convenient push-buttons.
*Executed in a convenient sturdy industrial non-magnetic ABS plastic cabinet, provided with a carrying handle, which doubles as a tilt stand for the equipment.
*The equipment works off 210 – 240VAC 50Hz power supply. Equipment to work off 115VAC supply can be supplied to special order. Power consumption less than 10VA.
*A solid-state transverse Hall Probe 5mm width x 1.2 mm thickness is supplied with a suitable handle, protective cover and approx. 1m long connecting cable terminated in a 4 pin polarized plug
Polarity indication of the field is given by the ‘+’ or ‘—‘ indications on the reading display. The probe is excited by a built-in constant-current source, which is adjusted by the ‘CAL’ adjustment to standardize its sensitivity. The probe output is amplified by a stable dc amplifier of high accuracy and then displayed on a 31digit voltmeter. Range selection of the voltmeter yields the two ranges viz. 0 -1.999 kGauss and 0 – 19.99kGauss.
