As per IS 2720 (Part - V), It is the maximum water content at which a reduction in water does not cause an appreciable reduction in volume of the soil mass.
The complete set consists of one each duly packed in a wooden box:
* Porcelain basin / Shrinkage dish 100 mm dia.
* Brass or stainless cup.
* Glass cup.
* Perspex plate with 3 metal prongs.
* Spatula.
* Measuring Cylinder 25 ml (Note: Without mercury)
